Terms of Service

Who we are

Pijnhol is operated by Pijnhol (ABN 91 206 800 518), based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

Pijnhol sends you short, AI-generated digests about the people, shows, teams, and topics you choose to follow, by text message. You build a watch-list, and we deliver digests to your verified mobile number on the schedule your plan allows. The website exists for signing up and managing your account — the product itself arrives in your messages.

Your account

You need a mobile number you control — that's what creates your account. An email address is optional, collected only if you add one or subscribe to a paid plan. You must be at least 16 and able to receive SMS in a supported region. Keep your login access secure — you're responsible for activity on your account. One account per person.

Trial and billing

  • New accounts get a 7-day free trial. No card is required to start, and nothing is charged unless you subscribe.
  • Paid plans are billed as recurring subscriptions through Stripe at the price and interval shown at checkout. Plan features and limits are as described on the site at the time you subscribe; we'll notify you of material changes to your plan.
  • When your trial ends without a subscription, digests stop — your account and settings are kept so you can pick up where you left off.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel any time from your dashboard via the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. We don't offer pro-rata refunds for partial periods, except where Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise — nothing in these terms limits your rights under it.

Messages and consent

By verifying your phone number you consent to receiving the messages your plan includes, plus service messages about your account. Message frequency depends on your plan settings. Reply STOP to opt out, or use "Stop receiving texts" in your dashboard's account settings at any time — either works immediately and you can undo it from the same place. Reply HELP for support. You can also pause or adjust delivery from your dashboard. Message and data rates may apply. We handle consent and opt-outs under the Australian Spam Act 2003 and the equivalent rules that apply where you're located — for example the TCPA in the United States.

About the content

Digests are generated by AI from third-party sources. They are summaries for general information — not professional, financial, medical, or legal advice, and despite our safeguards they may occasionally contain errors or omissions. Don't rely on a digest for decisions where accuracy matters without checking the linked sources. We summarise and link to third-party content rather than republishing it in full; that content belongs to its original publishers. If you're a rights holder and believe a digest misuses your content, email us and we'll review it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • verify a phone number that isn't yours;
  • follow subjects or write entries intended to solicit unlawful, harassing, or harmful content;
  • resell, scrape, or systematically redistribute the service or its content;
  • interfere with the service's operation or attempt to bypass its limits or security.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where reasonable, we'll warn you first.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or a third party's rights — except to the extent it's caused by our own breach of these terms or negligence.

Our liability

Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded, and nothing here attempts to. Beyond those guarantees, the service is provided as-is: we don't guarantee uninterrupted delivery, that every digest will be error-free, or that the service will suit a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss (like lost profits or data).

Ending or changing the service

You can close your account any time from the dashboard. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and may update these terms — if a change is material, we'll notify you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of its courts.
